Investing in Michigan’s Future
Created in 2005 to be a statewide leader in early childhood, ECIC collaborates to increase public and private investment in the earliest years, to elevate issues affecting young children and their families, and continuously improve Michigan’s comprehensive early childhood system, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed in school and in life.
We have a vision… that all young children and their families in Michigan thrive.
In order to make this vision a reality, we work to ensure:
- Race, culture and community are celebrated assets in a young child’s life
- Our work is informed by research and driven by the voices of diverse populations to achieve equitable outcomes for all children
- Collaboration is central to our work, and we strive to co-create knowledge and innovation for the field
We’re investing in Michigan’s future… Ready to join us?
Our History.
The Early Childhood Investment Corporation was established in 2005 through an interlocal agreement pursuant to the Urban Cooperation Act of 1967 (Act. 7, P.A. 1967 [Ex. Sess.], Sections 124.501-124.512 of the Michigan Compiled Laws).
For fifteen years, the Early Childhood Investment Corporation has worked collaboratively with partners across Michigan. As a public organization, funded by federal, state and private supporters, we have invested more than $225 million to improve the social emotional health, economic stability, safety, physical health and school readiness of all children – focusing especially on prenatal to age 5.
